Lumber River Canoe Race Chalk Banks State Park in Wagram 4th of July The Lumber River Canoe Race is held at Chalk Banks State Park in Wagram on the 4th of July. Teams are assembled for canoes as well as home-made floats. While the canoes racing down the river are very competitive, the float division is usually where the most fun is! Watermelon, hot dogs and drinks are all available at the race site and the trophy ceremony is held at Cypress Bend Vineyards downstream on the Lumber River.
