| Named for James Stewart, a representative to the first United States Congress, this multi-racial cemetery (not typical for the time) has gravesites dating back to the Revolutionary era. It is a burial ground for Civil War soldiers, as well as a number of early Scottish immigrants (look for Argyle, Skye and other Scottish birthplaces on headstones). The cemetery has also been known to inspire a good ghost story. Open dawn to dusk. |
